Dangote Refinery Reduces Petrol Price to N825 per Litre

The Dangote Petrolchemicals Refinery has quietly reduced the cost of petrol for its customers by offering a N10 per litre refund after loading.

Though the official ex-depot price remains N835 per litre, sources confirmed on Monday that customers receive a rebate, effectively paying N825 per litre.

“Marketers still pay N835, but they are refunded N10 after loading,” one source noted.

This silent price cut allows marketers to sell at slightly lower prices, between N830 and N835 per litre, undercutting competitors who rely on imports or private depots. Industry players say the move gives Dangote a strong market edge while offering some price relief for consumers.

So far, the company has not issued an official announcement on the rebate. However, the development signals a possible trend toward more flexible pricing strategies as the refinery continues to expand its operations in the local fuel market.
