Social media activist VeryDarkMan, has strongly criticized Folashade Tinubu, the daughter of President Bola Tinubu over recent plea for Nigerians to give her father three years before evaluating his presidency.
Folashade, who holds the position of Iyaloja General of Nigeria, recently advised patience with her father’s administration. She also urged parents to discourage their children from joining a planned hunger protest set for August 1 to 10.
In response, VeryDarkMan voiced his disapproval telling Folashade to ask her father to alleviate the nation’s suffering. He condemned the expectation that Nigerians remain silent amid increasing economic challenges under Tinubu’s leadership.
He pointed out that the first year of Tinubu’s presidency has been marked by significant hardship, particularly due to a dramatic rise in fuel prices. VDM also recalled Tinubu’s protests against former President Goodluck Jonathan over a fuel price hike, highlighting what he sees as hypocrisy in the current administration’s stance.
“Did you realize that people will not be complaining if your father does not have the first worst year in office in the history of Nigeria’s presidency?
“Warn your father, tell him that Nigerians are suffering. Talk to Daddy for us. Did you warn your dad when he went to protest against Goodluck Jonathan when he raised the fuel price from N65 to N87? The only thing I won’t approve of is that the protesters are violent. Stand for your rights, Nigerians.
“Protest, but don’t loot. Look at the prices of things. Fuel is N700 plus, and it is still not available. See the queues in gas stations. You can’t increase the price of things, and they will still not be available,” he said.
