“Don’t Implicate My Son” – Mohbad’s Mother Warns Yomi Fabiyi Over Allegations Against Late Singer’s Brother

The ongoing controversy surrounding the death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has taken a new turn as his mother, Mrs. Abosede Aloba, publicly clashed with actor Yomi Fabiyi.

The dispute erupted during a World Press Conference held on Wednesday at Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja, Lagos.

At the conference, Fabiyi accused Mohbad’s younger brother, Adura Aloba, of reaching out to him on Instagram with claims about the cause of the singer’s death. The allegation did not sit well with Mohbad’s grieving mother, who defended her son and vehemently denied the accusation.

In an emotional outburst, Mrs. Aloba declared, “They killed Mohbad, and you want me to lose his brother unjustly. He knows nothing about his brother’s death; do not implicate my son. I am not happy that I lost Mohbad because if he were alive, I wouldn’t be sitting here with you. They took my precious gift away, and I won’t let them take Adura, too.”

She went on to claim that another individual, Damola, had access to Adura’s phone and was responsible for sending the alleged message to Fabiyi. Mrs. Aloba expressed her frustration, saying, “At this point, I thought you wanted to launder my son’s image. He has denied this allegation countless times, but you still called this press conference to taint his image. Those who are using my son’s death for their personal gains, I leave them to God.”

Fabiyi, however, stood by his claim, emphasizing that his concerns were about the content of the message, not its sender. He remarked, “If it wasn’t Adura who sent the message explaining Mohbad’s death, would you want me to keep quiet? All I am trying to say is that it was Adura’s handle that sent me the message. I don’t have anything against him.”

The situation has added another twist to the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s untimely death on September 11, 2023, at the age of 26. The late singer’s passing has sparked widespread speculation and investigations, including the arrest of an unlicensed nurse who reportedly administered a tetanus injection to Mohbad before his demise.
