Elon Musk Regrets Trump Support, Struggling with White House ‘PTSD’ – Father

Errol Musk, father of tech billionaire Elon Musk, says his son now regrets backing former U.S. President Donald Trump and is suffering from what he called “PTSD from the White House.”

Speaking at a recent event in Moscow attended by associates of Russian President Vladimir Putin, the elder Musk, 79, offered some personal insight into his son’s mental state and political regrets.

According to Errol, Elon feels he made the wrong choice by supporting Trump’s re-election bid and is now under severe stress following their very public fallout.

The rift between the Tesla and SpaceX CEO and the former president reportedly began after Musk, via his social media platform X, shared and then deleted a post accusing Trump of being named in documents connected to Jeffrey Epstein.

The White House quickly rejected the claim, and Trump responded by calling Musk “CRAZY!” on his Truth Social platform. He also threatened to cancel any government deals involving Musk’s companies.

“So at the moment, Elon is inclined to say that he’s made a mistake,” Errol Musk told Russian media, noting that his son has been under intense pressure. “He’s tired, he’s stressed. Five months of continuous stress, continuous, continuous stress.”

Errol compared the clash between Trump and Elon to a failed marriage or a falling-out between partners. “They are the only two people left in the arena, Trump and Elon… So they took to each other, which is understandable. It happens in marriages, it happens in partnerships, it happens a lot,” he said.

The elder Musk added that Elon may have been unprepared for the challenges of navigating American politics. “He’s not a great politician, he is still learning. He’s a great tech innovator… But his politics… it’s a swimming pool with no bottom, it’s a swimming pool with no sides.”

According to Errol, one source of conflict between the two men was a legislative bill supported by Trump, which Elon reportedly saw as being packed with “Democrat stupid schemes.” That disagreement seems to have deepened their divide.

“They had an argument about that… And as they are all suffering from a bit of PTSD… they started hitting out at each other,” Errol noted.

Despite the current strain, Errol Musk believes the issue might be short-lived. “It’s just a small thing. It’ll be over tomorrow,” he said.
