Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has moved out of the Government House in Port Harcourt, along with his family and security personnel.
A reliable source, who wished to remain anonymous due to the sensitive nature of the matter, confirmed to PUNCH that Fubara left the official residence on Wednesday morning.
Despite the governor’s exit, security presence around the Government House appears minimal.
However, two Armoured Personnel Carriers (APCs) that were stationed outside the premises on Tuesday night remain in place. A small number of security officers are still present in the area, keeping watch over the premises.
Meanwhile, life in Port Harcourt continues as usual, with businesses and daily activities proceeding without disruption. There have been no reports of unrest or major disturbances in the city following the development.
