The Take It Back Movement, a major force behind the ongoing EndBadGovernance protests in Nigeria, has announced plans for a massive one-million-man march scheduled to take place on Saturday.
The protest is set to occur across all 36 states of Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
This significant development was disclosed by Mr. Sanyaolu Juwon, the National Coordinator of the Take It Back Movement, in an official statement released on Thursday in Abuja.
According to Juwon, “The Take It BackMovement (TIB), in collaboration with other organizers and organizations, will lead a significant one-million-man protest on August 10 in each of Nigeria’s 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.” This protest marks a critical moment in the EndBadGovernanceInNigeria campaign, which began on August 1, 2024.
Initially conceived as a 10-day protest, the movement has since evolved into a broader and more sustained effort, drawing participants not only from within Nigeria but also from Nigerians living abroad. The main focus of the protest is to shed light on the severe challenges and hardships currently faced by citizens in the country.
The protests, which started on August 1, have seen large turnouts, particularly in the northern regions of Nigeria.
However, there have been reports of criminal elements causing disturbances in some areas, tarnishing the peaceful intentions of the movement. Despite these challenges, the protests have continued to gain momentum.
