Early Thursday morning, hundreds of protesters gathered at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja to rally against the severe economic conditions affecting many Nigerians. The protest, known as #EndBadGovernanceProtest, was organized by various activist groups and individuals frustrated with the government’s handling of the economy.
In compliance with a court order, the protesters were restricted to the stadium grounds. By 6 am, the stadium was already filled with people chanting solidarity songs and holding signs demanding change. Their voices echoed through the stadium, unified in their call for better governance and economic relief.
The protesters’ main grievances center on the rising cost of living, unemployment, and the lack of adequate government support. Many participants shared personal stories of hardship, describing how the economic situation has made it difficult for them to provide for their families.
