EPL: Madueke Hits Hat-trick As Chelsea Run Riot Over Wolves

Chelsea delivered an emphatic performance, dismantling Wolverhampton Wanderers 6-2 at Molineux in their first victory of the season. The win came amidst speculation that Chelsea had pulled out of pursuing Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, signaling confidence in their current squad.

The Blues started strong, taking an early lead after just 98 seconds. Senegalese striker Nicolas Jackson capitalized on a well-delivered Cole Palmer corner, heading the ball into the net. Wolves quickly responded, nearly equalizing when Yerson Mosquera’s header struck the post. Soon after, Matheus Cunha leveled the score at 1-1 after Moises Caicedo slipped, leaving an open path for the striker to score.

As the first half progressed, Chelsea regained the upper hand with a remarkable lob by Cole Palmer over Wolves’ goalkeeper Jose Sa, making it 2-1. However, just before the halftime whistle, Jorgen Strand Larsen scored his debut goal, bringing Wolves back to 2-2 at the break.

The second half belonged to Chelsea. Noni Madueke took charge, scoring his first goal only four minutes after the restart. The winger continued his impressive form, netting two more goals within 17 minutes, marking his first hat-trick for the Blues. All of Madueke’s goals were assisted by the energetic Cole Palmer, showcasing the duo’s chemistry on the field.

Joao Felix, returning for his second debut, added the sixth goal, sealing the Blues’ dominance. Wolves managed two goals, but they served merely as consolation on an otherwise challenging day for the home side.
