EPL TRANSFER: Marmoush Set to Join Manchester City on Five-Year Deal

Omar Marmoush is on the brink of joining Manchester City after the Premier League giants and German club Eintracht Frankfurt reached a verbal agreement for the striker. The Egyptian forward is expected to finalize a deal with City, which will see him sign a five-year contract, a significant step in his career.

Marmoush, known for his versatility in attack, has been a standout performer in the Bundesliga this season. The 25-year-old can play in various attacking roles, including as a central striker or on the wings, making him an appealing option for City’s manager. He has impressed with his goal-scoring form, finding the back of the net 15 times in the league, just one goal behind Bayern Munich’s star forward, Harry Kane, who has scored 16 goals so far.

The agreement for Marmoush’s transfer comes after weeks of negotiations between Manchester City and Eintracht Frankfurt. According to sources, Frankfurt initially set a hefty asking price of £67.5 million (€80 million) for the player, but City has reportedly submitted an offer closer to £59 million (€70 million), with additional performance-based bonuses that could push the total value of the deal to between £63.2 million (€75 million) and £67.4 million (€80 million).

The key breakthrough in the negotiations came on Monday, when Txiki Begiristain, the sporting director at Manchester City, held further discussions with Frankfurt. These talks helped bring both clubs closer to agreeing on a final transfer fee for Marmoush. Though the offer is still slightly below Frankfurt’s original demand, the terms are expected to be accepted, paving the way for the player’s move to the Etihad Stadium.

Marmoush’s potential arrival marks a significant step in City’s transfer strategy as they look to strengthen their attacking options ahead of the second half of the season. With the deal for Marmoush almost completed, the club will now shift its focus to other transfer targets. Manchester City is reportedly in talks to secure the signatures of Palmeiras’ promising young player Vitor Reis and Lens’ talented midfielder Abdukodir Khusanov.
