Erling Haaland Signs 10-Year Contract with Manchester City

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has signed a monumental 10-year contract that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2034. The deal highlights the club’s trust in Haaland’s contributions and potential to shape their future.

Haaland, 24, joined Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022. Since then, he has become an essential figure in the team’s remarkable successes. The Norwegian forward initially signed a contract set to expire in 2027, but this new agreement extends his stay by seven more years.

The club confirmed the deal in an official statement: “Erling Haaland has signed a new 10-year Manchester City contract, keeping him at the Club until the summer of 2034.”

Haaland expressed his happiness about the extended deal, saying, “I am really happy to have signed my new contract and to be able to look forward to spending even more time at this great club. Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people with amazing supporters, and it’s the type of environment that helps bring the best out of everybody.”

Since his arrival, Haaland has delivered astonishing performances. In his debut season (2022/23), he scored 52 goals across all competitions, breaking the Premier League record with 36 league goals. His efforts were instrumental in Manchester City’s historic treble-winning season, securing the Premier League, FA Cup, and Champions League titles.

Injuries during the 2023/24 season sidelined him for nearly two months, but Haaland still managed to score 38 goals in 45 matches. His 27 Premier League goals earned him a second consecutive Golden Boot.

Manchester City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, emphasized Haaland’s value to the club. “The fact he has been signed for so long demonstrates our commitment to him as a player and his love for this club,” Begiristain said, praising Haaland’s professionalism and dedication to improvement.

Currently, in the 2024/25 season, Haaland has already scored 21 goals, bringing his total tally for the club to 111 goals in 126 matches. He is now ranked 15th on Manchester City’s all-time scoring list, with plenty of time to climb higher.
