Euro 2024: Six Players Share Golden Boot Award

The Euro 2024 Golden Boot, awarded to the tournament’s top goal scorer, has been shared among six players after each of them scored three goals.

The six players are Spain’s Dani Olmo, England’s Harry Kane, Georgia’s Georges Mikautadze, the Netherlands’ Cody Gakpo, Slovakia’s Ivan Schranz, and Germany’s Jamal Musiala.

In a departure from previous tournaments, UEFA decided to forgo the usual tie-breaker, which often uses assists or minutes played to determine a single winner.

Instead, this year the award was determined solely by the number of goals scored. As a result, all six players who scored three goals were honored equally.

Heading into the final match in Berlin, Harry Kane and Dani Olmo were leading the goal charts with three goals each.

Despite their best efforts, neither player was able to score in the final, thus securing their position at the top alongside the other four players.

The tournament also saw several other awards being given. Spain’s Nico Williams was named the Euro 2024 Final Player of the Match.

His compatriot, Lamine Yamal, won the UEFA Euro 2024 Young Player of the Tournament and also topped the assists chart with four assists. Spain’s dominance continued as Rodri was named the UEFA Euro 2024 Player of the Tournament.

Additionally, Mike Maignan of France was recognized for his outstanding performances as a goalkeeper, securing the Most Clean Sheets award with four clean sheets throughout the tournament.
