Europa League: Amorim Addresses Heated Exchange Between Hojlund and Diallo After Manchester United Win

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has downplayed the on-field disagreement between Rasmus Hojlund and Amad Diallo following their dramatic 2-1 victory over Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League on Thursday.

The tense moment unfolded after Hojlund, who came off the bench to inspire United’s comeback with two goals, showed visible frustration with Diallo during the closing minutes of the match.

The Danish striker, eager to secure a hat-trick, had hoped for a late cross from Diallo that never materialized. Shortly after, the final whistle blew, and Hojlund was seen voicing his displeasure toward his teammate.

Speaking in the post-match press conference, Amorim addressed the incident calmly, emphasizing the positive side of such passionate exchanges within the team. He remarked: “In this moment, we need to feel something, if we need to fight each other it’s like a family, for me it’s a very, very good sign. We need to feel something and that is important.”

Amorim stressed that such moments reflect the players’ commitment to the team, adding: “That is clear (that they care). When you don’t care, you don’t do anything. When you care, you fight with your brother, with your father, with your mother.”

The manager further assured that the situation was under control: “It’s a normal thing, it’s a positive thing, a healthy thing. So I let the players and the captain to calm down the things.”
