“Everywhere You Turn in Nigeria, People Are Crying” – Dele Momodu Slams Tinubu’s Govt

Dele Momodu, publisher of Ovation magazine and former presidential aspirant, has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, citing the rising economic hardship and deepening public frustration across Nigeria.

In a recent appearance on News Central TV, Momodu didn’t hold back as he criticized the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, describing the current situation in the country as deeply troubling.

Momodu noted that Nigerians are experiencing unbearable levels of economic pain. From cities to rural towns, he said, people are struggling to cope with rising costs, a weak currency, and government policies that many say have made daily life more difficult.

“Everywhere you turn in Nigeria, people are crying. I have never seen this level of bitterness, and I hope the president is taking this criticism in good faith,” he said during the interview.

He also addressed a concerning political trend in the country — the wave of defections to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). According to him, these moves are not based on shared values or policy goals, but are more about personal gain. Momodu notes that many of these politicians are simply aligning with the ruling party to secure their political futures.

“So I’m not sure that the president actually knows what is going on,” Momodu added. “If you see all the governors decamping to your party, won’t you think you are the greatest thing that happened to Nigeria? You can’t blame the man if he feels that way.”

He warned that such mass defections could distort the president’s view of the nation’s true state, giving a false sense of approval or success. Instead of meaningful governance and reform, Momodu argued, what is seen is a race for power and control.
