Former Big Brother Naija star, Mike Edwards, has made a successful debut in the professional boxing ring. Edwards secured a victory against Jake Cornish in a thrilling match held at the Dublin Arena on Saturday.
The fight, which went the full rounds, saw Edwards demonstrate his skills and determination, ultimately earning a unanimous decision from the judges. This win marks a notable shift in Edwards’ athletic career, as he only announced his surprising transition from athletics to professional boxing in April of this year.
Edwards competed in the Misfits Boxing Cruiserweight division, a platform run by English social media influencer and Nigerian-born professional boxer Olajide Williams, popularly known as KSI. Edwards’ debut was highly anticipated, and he did not disappoint, showing both his physical prowess and mental toughness throughout the bout.
