Father, Second Wife Arrested Over Mysterious Deaths of Three Sisters in Delta State

The Delta State Police Command has arrested a man and his second wife in connection with the tragic deaths of his three daughters in the Delta Steel Company (DSC) Township, Oruhworun, Udu Local Government Area.

The three sisters, who lived separately from their father following their mother’s death, had visited his home when the incident occurred. Sources say they were last seen returning from a birthday party the night before. The next morning, they were discovered foaming at the mouth, sparking concerns of foul play.

A community member who spoke on the matter stated, “The incident has sent shock waves through the community, especially as it comes less than a year after the death of their biological mother.” The source also noted that the father’s second wife was once a close friend of the late mother, raising further suspicions.

The Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Edafe Bright, confirmed the ongoing investigation. “We are treating this as a suspicious death and are exploring all angles. The public will be updated as we make progress,” he said.

Meanwhile, in a separate case, two young men from Benue State have been arrested in connection with the murder of an engineer in Akwukwu-Igbo, the headquarters of Oshimili North Local Government Area.

Reports indicate that the engineer was hired to construct offices in the area but mysteriously disappeared in December 2024. His body was recently found buried in a shallow grave inside a farm. A source from the community revealed, “The suspects, identified as Tiv youths from Benue State, allegedly killed the engineer and concealed his body.”

Edafe Bright confirmed that authorities had exhumed the body and were working to apprehend others possibly involved in the crime. “We are aware of the incident, and our men are working to ensure others involved are apprehended,” he assured.
