The Federal Government has appointed Professor Lucian Chukwu as the new Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University, Ibuzor, Delta State. The announcement was made on Saturday by Folasade Boriowo, the Director of Press at the Ministry of Education.
Boriowo noted that the university’s Governing Council conducted the selection process on February 26 and 27, 2025, at the Council Chamber of the institution. During the exercise, five candidates were interviewed for the position, and at the end of the process, Professor Chukwu emerged as the top candidate, scoring 83.41%.
“In line with the principle of merit being upheld by the Federal Government, the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, has approved the appointment of Professor Lucian O. Chukwu as the substantive Vice-Chancellor of Admiralty University, Ibuzor,” the statement read.
The appointment is set for a single tenure of five years, effective from February 28, 2025.
Boriowo also noted that the Minister of Education extended his best wishes to Professor Chukwu for a successful tenure.
