FG repatriates 190 Nigerians from UAE

The Nigerian government has successfully repatriated 190 citizens who were stranded in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This effort is part of ongoing initiatives to assist Nigerians facing challenges abroad.

The returnees arrived at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja early Tuesday morning at 5:57 a.m. They were greeted by a coordinated team of officials from various government agencies, led by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). The operation was overseen by Mr. Bashir Garga, NEMA’s zonal director in the North Central region.

Upon arrival, the returnees underwent a thorough profiling and documentation process. This was carried out by the relevant agencies to ensure that all necessary information was recorded. In addition, the returnees received guidance on how to conduct themselves responsibly and uphold the values of Nigeria.

In an official statement, the Federal Government emphasized the importance of Nigerians acting as exemplary ambassadors wherever they are. The statement reads, “The Federal Government urges all Nigerians, wherever they may be, to act as exemplary ambassadors of their country, by upholding the fundamental values of patriotism, rule of law, decency, and integrity.”

This repatriation effort highlights the government’s commitment to the welfare of its citizens, especially those facing difficulties abroad. The Federal Government continues to work closely with international partners to ensure the safe return of Nigerians who find themselves in challenging situations in foreign countries.
