Fuel Crisis: Give us Your Price List – Marketers Tell Dangote

Nigerian petroleum marketers have called on Dangote Refinery to disclose the price of its Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to the public.

The demand comes in response to comments made by Devakumar Edwin, Vice President of Dangote Industries Limited, who claimed that local marketers were favoring imported petrol over the refinery’s products, despite Dangote’s offering lower prices.

Billy Gillis-Harry, President of the Products Retail Outlets Owners Association, and Abubakar Maigandi, President of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), both expressed confusion over Edwin’s statement.

In a statement made available to Daily Post, they noted that petroleum marketers in Nigeria are still unaware of the actual price of Dangote Refinery’s petrol.

Gillis-Harry emphasized that Nigerian marketers are open to purchasing petrol from Dangote Refinery, provided the prices are fair and transparent.

He stated, “Why don’t Dangote Refinery give us a price list of what his price is? They cannot tell the price of Dangote Refinery’s PMS which they claim is cheaper than imported petrol. What is the price of DRL petrol?”

Maigandi echoed similar sentiments, insisting that marketers cannot be accused of boycotting the refinery’s petrol when the prices have not been made public.

He pointed out that marketers are ready to engage with Dangote Refinery, as long as the pricing is competitive.

“We don’t know the price of Dangote Refinery’s Petrol. We are ready to buy Petrol from Dangote Refinery in any condition provided the price is not more than the price we are getting from other places,” he said.
