FULL LIST: NJC Recommends 36 Judicial Appointments Across Nigeria

The National Judicial Council (NJC), led by Hon. Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has recommended the appointment of 36 judges during its 107th meeting, which took place on November 13 and 14, 2024.

These appointments, once approved by the respective state governors, will see the appointment of judges across various courts in Nigeria.

According to a statement released by the NJC on X and its website, the recommended candidates include judges for High Courts, Sharia Court Kadis, and Customary Court judges in several states. The NJC’s recommendations highlight the ongoing effort to strengthen the country’s judicial system by filling key positions at the state level.

This recommendation follows earlier appointments, including 28 judges nominated at the NJC’s 106th meeting in August 2024, and a larger batch of 86 judicial officers selected in May 2024 for both federal and state courts.
