God Made Me Governor Against All Odds – Aiyedatiwa

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has credited his emergence as the state’s leader to divine intervention rather than human efforts. Aiyedatiwa made this statement during a Thanksgiving Service held at the Redeemed Christian Church of God in Akure, ahead of his official swearing-in as the 7th elected governor of Ondo State.

At the event, Aiyedatiwa reflected on his political journey and expressed deep gratitude to God for what he described as divine guidance and favor. Quoting from Psalm 124:1, he said:

“If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, what would our Israel be saying this day?”

He also thanked the people of Ondo State for their support, particularly during the last gubernatorial and local government elections. Aiyedatiwa assured them of his administration’s dedication to good governance and development.

“As we prepare to take the oath of office tomorrow, we pledge to serve with integrity, transparency, and accountability. We shall work tirelessly to create opportunities, foster growth, and ensure our state remains a beacon of hope and prosperity,” he stated.

The governor reaffirmed his commitment to the Seven-Point Developmental Agenda (OUR EASE), which focuses on improving key sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture, infrastructure, commerce, and industry. He also promised to enhance security, ensuring that Ondo State remains one of the safest and most peaceful in Nigeria.

Addressing the need for unity and cooperation, Aiyedatiwa called on all citizens to work together in building a stronger and more prosperous state. He also acknowledged the role of the church in societal development, pledging to strengthen partnerships that support education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.

Earlier in his sermon, Pastor Elijah Olujimi Olubade, the Regional Pastor of Zone 22, noted that true victories come not by human effort but by divine grace.

“Just as Israel acknowledged God’s hand in their success, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa is appreciating God for His favor in leading Ondo State,” he said.
