Mike Bamiloye, founder of Mount Zion Faith Drama Ministry, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of gospel actress Toluwalope Adegboyega-Alagbe, widely known as Flora in the Abattoir series.
Flora reportedly passed away on February 4, 2025, after battling injuries from a car accident that occurred in December 2024 along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. Her performances in Christian films left a lasting impact, and her death has been met with an outpouring of tributes from colleagues and fans.
Bamiloye took to Facebook on Thursday to mourn her loss, describing her passing as a transition to eternal rest. He reaffirmed his belief in God’s plan and the continuation of gospel filmmaking despite the tragedy.
“We are soldiers… on the battlefield! Jesus is our commander! When He calls our names, we shall answer a million times!” Bamiloye wrote.
He noted that believers who pass away find peace beyond earthly struggles. “When you cross over to Heaven, you forget all pains and griefs. No shaking! Tolu left a great impact and was called home to heaven! We shall continue till the end!”
Despite the heartbreaking news, Bamiloye declared that the mission of producing faith-based films remains strong. He reassured his followers that challenges will not stop the work of spreading the gospel through movies.
“The devil cannot touch us without God knowing about it! We will not keep quiet! We move! More Abattoirs! More Abejoyes!!!” he wrote.
Encouraging fellow actors and filmmakers in the Christian movie industry, he urged them to keep pushing forward. “The rest of us, get up on your feet! Proceed to film locations in towns and villages! Ise sese bere ni! (The work has just begun!) We move!!!”
Flora’s passing comes just months after another Abattoir actor, Moses Korede Are (Baba Gbenro), passed away in November 2024. He was laid to rest on January 31, 2025.
Bamiloye’s son, Joshua, also shared his tribute on X, expressing his grief over Flora’s passing.
“It’s been a few quiet days for me here, still struggling to process the passing of Toluwalope — a fellow drama minister and a light in this world. It’s heartbreaking and difficult to understand, but even in our pain, we continue to trust Him. It was a short run but with lasting impact. My heart goes out to her family. I pray the Lord Himself will comfort them beyond what words can express. May His presence strengthen them in this season of grief.”
Another gospel actress, Tomiwa Samson, shared her tribute on Instagram, reflecting on the bond they shared.
“It is a privilege to have shared beautiful moments with you in this life. You have fought your good fight of faith, and you have finished your race! I love and celebrate you now and always, ‘sis mi,’ as you fondly called me. Hmm! See you in heaven, our flower. You will always be our flower.”
