Spokesperson to Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, Olawale Rasheed, has made it clear that the governor has no plans to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to Rasheed, Adeleke remains fully committed to the PDP and continues to serve as one of its top figures in Osun State.
The clarification came on Wednesday through a press statement shared with reporters in Osogbo.
The statement was issued in response to recent rumors spreading across various media platforms that Governor Adeleke was planning to switch to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Rasheed addressed these reports, calling them completely untrue and misleading.
“The media speculation about likely or imminent defection is fake news. Governor Adeleke remains a member and leader of the PDP in Osun State,” the statement read.
He also explained that the recent visit by the Adeleke family to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was being wrongly portrayed. Rasheed noted that it was simply a normal courtesy visit, with no political intention behind it.
“The visit by the Adeleke dynasty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is a routine courtesy visit. Any reading of defection agenda into the visit is mere fake news,” he added.
