Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has made changes to his cabinet, affecting three key commissioners in what officials describe as a minor reshuffle. The announcement followed a State Executive Council meeting held earlier this week, with the reshuffle taking immediate effect.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Information, Sagir Ahmed Musa, revealed the new appointments. According to Musa, Ahmed Garba MK, who was serving as Commissioner for Local Government and Community Development, has been transferred to lead the Ministry of Land.
He replaces Col. Muhammad Alhassan (Rtd), who now takes over as the Commissioner for Water Resources. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Garba Hanum Giwa, previously in charge of Water Resources, will now head the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development.
Although no official reason was given for the reassignments, Musa noted that all affected commissioners are expected to complete their handover and takeover processes by May 19.
