Governor Adeleke Introduces Online Registration for 2025 Hajj Pilgrims in Osun State

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has approved the launch of an online registration portal for the state’s 2025 Hajj operations. This new system is designed to streamline the registration process for both Muslim and Christian pilgrims, reducing the need for direct personal contact and ensuring better accountability.

The decision was announced in a statement by Mr. Aderibigbe Rasheed, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, who highlighted Governor Adeleke’s commitment to transparent governance. He emphasized that the governor’s primary aim is to make sure that the funds spent by pilgrims, whether individually or as a group, are handled in a responsible and efficient manner.

In his statement, Mr. Rasheed explained the governor’s dedication to minimizing unnecessary human interactions during the registration process. This, he believes, will reduce the possibility of errors or corruption and make the entire process more accessible to everyone.

“Mr. Governor is concerned about accountability and transparency in government dealings and with his determination to ensure value for money expended by individuals or groups, hence the resolve minimizes personal contact with intending pilgrims registration,” Mr. Rasheed stated.

He further urged members of the public who wish to participate in the 2025 Hajj to begin their registration through the newly created online platform. For Muslim pilgrims, the registration portal is accessible at muslimpilgrim.osunstate.gov.ng, while Christian pilgrims can register at christianpilgrim.osunstate.gov.ng.

“This would make the process more open and less time-consuming for our intending pilgrims and give value for money,” he added.

This initiative aligns with Governor Adeleke’s broader agenda of digitizing governmental services, ensuring that operations are more efficient and less prone to administrative bottlenecks. By adopting this online platform, Osun State becomes one of the few Nigerian states to introduce such a modernized system for pilgrimage registration.

The new system is expected to make the Hajj registration process easier and more transparent for the residents of Osun State, ensuring that more people can plan their pilgrimage with peace of mind, knowing their funds and personal details are securely handled.
