Ahead of the upcoming November 16 governorship election in Ondo State, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, has called on residents not to waste their votes on the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP), which he claims is no longer relevant in the state.
During his campaign tour across various communities in the Ese-Odo Local Government Area, including Igbobini, Kiribo, and Igbotu, Aiyedatiwa strongly criticized the PDP, declaring that the party has lost its influence and urging voters to rally behind the APC for the upcoming election. He assured the electorate that the APC would continue to drive development in the state.
Speaking to the gathered crowd, Aiyedatiwa expressed his appreciation for their patience and support, saying, “I want to thank you for your patience as we gathered here today. I salute your love, unity, and support for us and the party. I will reciprocate this gesture after the election.”
He highlighted the various achievements of his administration, including improvements in roads, schools, hospitals, and state security. He also mentioned the government’s efforts to employ more teachers and improve the overall educational system.
“No doubt, we have initiated many projects, and we will do more. Our roads, schools, and hospitals are receiving attention,” Aiyedatiwa noted. He urged the people to come out in large numbers on election day to cast their votes for the APC.
He also claimed that prominent figures from the PDP have joined the APC, signaling the collapse of the opposition party in the state. “As you know, all the gladiators in the PDP, are now with us. We have torn the umbrella of the main opposition party into shreds.”
