Hajj 2025: Kaduna to Begin Airlifting Pilgrims to Saudi Arabia on May 14

The Kaduna State Pilgrims Welfare Agency has officially confirmed that the airlift of pilgrims for the 2025 Hajj will begin on Tuesday, May 14. This update was shared in a statement released by Malam Yunusa Abdullahi, the agency’s Public Relations Officer, quoting the Executive Chairman, Malam Salihu Abubakar.

Abubakar noted that a total of 4,060 intending pilgrims from Kaduna State are scheduled to take part in this year’s Hajj. He explained that UMZA Airline has been chosen as the designated airline for transporting pilgrims from Kaduna to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As part of the preparations, the chairman said that all pilgrims would pass through a detailed medical screening process at the Hajj Transit Camp located in Mando, Kaduna. This is a necessary step to ensure the health and safety of all travelers before they board their flights.

“In compliance with international and Saudi Arabian health regulations, all female pilgrims are required to undergo pregnancy tests before departure,” he stated.

Abubakar also called on pilgrims to respect the guidelines and rules provided by Saudi authorities. He pointed out that discipline, group unity, and personal responsibility are key to having a smooth and meaningful spiritual journey.

The welfare agency, according to him, is working closely with relevant stakeholders to make the entire Hajj process seamless. From transportation and accommodation to health and safety, the agency aims to give every pilgrim a stress-free experience.

He further noted that the agency values the ongoing support from the general public and encourages citizens to offer prayers for the safe travel and successful pilgrimage of all participants.

“The Agency appreciates the cooperation of all stakeholders and calls on the public to support the pilgrims with prayers for a successful and safe journey,” he added.
