Hardwork and Prayer Remains My Watchword, says Tinubu at 73rd Birthday Prayer

President Bola Tinubu marked his 73rd birthday on Friday with a special Juma’ah prayer session at the National Mosque in Abuja. During the event, the President expressed gratitude for his life and reaffirmed his dedication to working hard for the nation’s progress.

Speaking to reporters after the prayer session, Tinubu reflected on the importance of faith and diligence in leadership. He noted that his guiding principle remains “hard work and hard prayers,” emphasizing that both are necessary for success.

“I feel good. I feel happy. I thank the Almighty Allah, who has protected us and continues to answer our prayers. We also thank Allah for accepting our worship; that is key and very important to us,” Tinubu said.

He further stated that his prayers were focused on the peace and stability of Nigeria, as well as the well-being of its citizens. According to him, ensuring the safety and welfare of Nigerians remains a priority in his leadership.

Religious leaders at the event also extended their prayers for the President and the country. Dr. Abdulkadir Solagberu, the Malami Ubandoma of Ilorin Emirate, assured Tinubu of continued prayers for his health, strength, and wisdom in leading the nation. He noted that prayers for national peace and stability are crucial for citizens’ development and overall well-being.

The Imam of the National Mosque, Prof. Muhammad Adam, also expressed appreciation for Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for their efforts in supporting the poor and needy, particularly during Ramadan. He encouraged Nigerians to keep praying for the country and to continue showing kindness to the less privileged beyond the holy month.

“Mr. President, Allah is with you, and you will succeed,” Adam stated.

Several top government officials, including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, ministers, Service Chiefs, and members of the President’s family, attended the Jumat prayer.
