“He’s Lying, I Did Not Hit Anyone” – Victor Osimhen Denies Allegations of Assaulting Journalist

Galatasaray forward Victor Osimhen has strongly denied allegations that he punched a Turkish journalist, calling the claims false and promising to take appropriate legal actions against the accuser.

Osimhen, who scored the winning goal in Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig on Saturday, expressed his frustration with the report during a press interaction following the match. The accusation from the journalist suggested that Osimhen became violent after his photograph was taken without permission.

In his statement, Osimhen firmly rejected the claim, saying, “I did not hit the journalists, they are lying.” He explained that the incident began when the journalist took his picture without asking for permission.

“I said to him, ‘Why are you flashing my face, you need to ask permission for an interview,’” the player explained. He continued by mentioning that he had instructed the journalists to delete the photos they had taken.

The 25-year-old striker stressed that his actions were simply to communicate with the journalists, rather than to resort to violence. “I did not hit anyone. I just went up to them and talked to them,” Osimhen clarified.

He further noted that he is no stranger to such situations and has experienced similar incidents in the past. “I knew they would lie,” he said, expressing his disappointment over the accusation.

Osimhen also conveyed his commitment to seek justice if the journalist’s account proved to be false. “I will take the necessary steps. If I did (punch him), justice will prevail. If he is lying, justice will hold him accountable,” the player emphasized.

The accusations against Osimhen have raised questions about the treatment of athletes by the media, and the striker’s strong response indicates that he will not let the false claims go unchallenged. Fans and the public will likely await further developments, as Osimhen prepares to take legal steps to address the situation.
