Hunger Protest: If You Dare Come Out, You’ll Be Severely Dealt With – Thugs Threatens Market Women

A video has gone viral showing suspected thugs issuing threats to residents of Lagos State, warning them not to participate in an upcoming hunger protest. The protest, planned to take place from August 1 to 10, aims to highlight the severe economic hardships faced by Nigerians, including the soaring cost of living and increasing food insecurity.

The unidentified men in the video did not reveal their faces but their voices were clear. They directed their threats towards market women and men, urging them to avoid the protest. The thugs claimed that joining the protest could result in even more destruction than what was seen during the #EndSARS demonstrations.

According to a report by Punch on Tuesday, the thugs’ warning was unequivocal. They challenged potential protesters, questioning their motives and threatening severe consequences. One thug was heard saying, “Anybody that is confident should come out on Thursday to protest. Are you the only one hungry? If you dare come out to protest, you will be mercilessly dealt with.”

The video has sparked widespread concern among residents who are considering participating in the protest. The threats have added a layer of fear to an already tense situation, raising questions about the safety of those who wish to peacefully express their grievances.

The planned hunger protest is intended to draw national attention to the difficult living conditions many Nigerians are enduring. The rising prices of basic goods and the overall economic downturn have pushed many to the brink, making the protest a crucial platform for voicing their struggles.

Despite the threats, organizers and participants are determined to proceed with the protest. They believe it is essential to stand up against the economic challenges and demand better living conditions.
