“I thought we were being brought here for the actual protest” — Hired protester reveals

Earlier today, a surprising turn of events unfolded at the National Stadium in Abuja when hired counter-protesters arrived, allegedly to oppose the #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria movement. The incident quickly caught the attention of the media and onlookers, raising questions about the organization and transparency of the protests.

Around mid-morning, five white coaster buses pulled up at the stadium, unloading a group of demonstrators. Initially, it appeared that these individuals were there to support the government and counter the ongoing #EndBadGovernance protests. However, confusion arose when one of the demonstrators disclosed to reporters that he was unaware of the true nature of their protest.

The protester, whose identity remains undisclosed, told the media, “I thought we were being brought here for the actual protest.” This revelation suggests that many of the counter-protesters might have been misled about their purpose, believing they were joining the original anti-government protests instead of opposing them.

This incident has sparked further allegations that government agents might have orchestrated this counter-protest. There are claims circulating online that the government mobilized these individuals to create a pro-government demonstration, attempting to overshadow the genuine #EndBadGovernance protests.

Videos of the event, which have gone viral, show the hired counter-protesters arriving in their buses and mingling with the actual demonstrators.
