‘I Used to Send Money’ – Singer Asake Responds to Alleged Father’s Claims of Neglect

Nigerian singer Ahmed Ololade, widely known as Asake, has responded to accusations made by a man who claims to be his father. The man, identified as Fatai Odunsi, alleged that Asake has abandoned him and refused to offer financial support despite his health struggles.

A viral video circulating online shows Odunsi in distress as he pleads for help from the public. He stated that he has been battling a stroke since March 2022 and has not seen or heard from Asake since then.

In the video, Odunsi made an emotional appeal, saying, “Good day everyone, I’m the one that gave birth to Ahmed Asake the singer. The last time I set my eyes on him was March 2022 when my sickness started. If I called Asake, he won’t pick. Please help me, it is your help that I need.”

The video has sparked debate on social media, with many questioning Asake’s response to the situation. In reaction to the claims, the singer appeared to address the matter through a song he shared online.

Singing in Yoruba, Asake noted, “You can’t please the world. Whatever you do, do it for God and always remember the day you’ll die and meet your God. My people, can you see? Even my father wants to cajole me. I used to press money for him and I do it with one mind. No one can quench my fire. God is the one that is taking me ahead in life.”

Many fans and social media users have been divided over the singer’s response. Some believe he has done his part and should not be pressured, while others argue that he should do more to support the man who claims to be his father.

The controversy has also fueled discussions about family responsibilities, personal boundaries, and the expectations placed on celebrities. While some people sympathize with Odunsi’s situation, others caution against jumping to conclusions without knowing the full story.

Asake, who reportedly left Olamide’s YBNL record label, has not made any further statements regarding the matter. However, the issue continues to generate reactions across social media

platforms.
