‘I Wish I Were Nigerian,’ Says Candace Owens

American political commentator and media personality Candace Owens has openly expressed her admiration for Nigerian culture and values.

Speaking during a recent episode of her show, Owens praised the strong emphasis Nigerians place on family, marriage, and cultural heritage.

Owens described herself as a “Nigerian stan,” a term used to express her enthusiastic support for the country’s cultural identity.

In a video clip shared on her TikTok page, she highlighted how Nigerians, even those living abroad, maintain a deep connection to their values.

“I’m a Nigerian stan. I think Nigerians have their culture together. Whenever you meet a Nigerian, whether a doctor in the US, their families take marriage very seriously.

“I wish I were Nigerian. I do a little bit, but I’m not. They do have a good culture… I’m a Nigerian stan. They are funny. They have very good values,” she said.

In a related discussion, Ghanaian actress Yvonne Okoro also expressed her preference for Nigerian men during an interview on the TV program Showbiz 360.

Okoro praised Nigerian men for their romantic and generous nature, explaining that her choice was not solely influenced by material wealth.

“Nigerian men or Ghanaian men? Nigerian men are better. I didn’t say Nigerian men because of money. That’s not the only thing. Money is there but love, affection is very important. Because if they give me money and there’s no love and they’re very disrespectful, I wouldn’t want that.

“I want the whole package. That’s my kind of man. I want everything.”
