I’ll Reclaim Osun for APC – Oyetola

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, has made it clear that he is ready to lead efforts to return the All Progressives Congress (APC) to power in Osun State.

Speaking through his representative, Mr. Richard Tinubu, at a gathering in Osogbo, Oyetola said he is committed to playing a key role in ensuring the party’s success in the 2026 governorship election.

The event, which took place on Thursday, was organized by the Iron Ladies Group, a women-led political association within the APC. It was both an inauguration and an award ceremony aimed at energizing party members and strengthening their unity ahead of the next electoral contest.

With the current Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expected to seek re-election, Oyetola stressed the importance of unity and hard work among APC members. He was quoted as saying, “I will provide leadership for APC and I work hard to return the party to power in 2026.”

Mr. Tinubu, who stood in for the former governor, urged members of the group to focus on outreach efforts. According to him, mobilizing supporters and backing President Bola Tinubu’s administration would help the party build a stronger base. He noted the importance of staying focused and working together to ensure victory at the polls.

The coordinator of the Iron Ladies Group, Adesola Ayangbile, shared that the association was formed to support and mentor women in politics. She also stated that their support would remain focused on policies that benefit women and children across Osun.

During her speech, Ayangbile said the group had chosen Bola Oyebamiji, the Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, as their preferred aspirant for the APC’s governorship ticket. She also noted their readiness to support President Tinubu’s second term bid in 2027.

Receiving an award on behalf of her husband, Dr. Shekinat Oyebamiji assured the group that their support would not be misplaced. She said Oyebamiji values the endorsement and would not disappoint the people of Osun if given the chance to lead.
