Insecurity: Nigeria Will Not Yield to Local or International Pressure — Tinubu

President Bola Tinubu has firmly stated that Nigeria will not be swayed by pressure from within or outside the country aimed at weakening its national security.

Speaking during a visit to military personnel stationed in Katsina State on Friday, Tinubu began his address with a strong warning to anyone attempting to destabilize Nigeria.

“To those who seek to destabilise our nation, be they domestic collaborators or foreign agents, hear this: Nigeria will not bow, not to fear; not to terror, not to treachery,” he declared.

His statement came after a series of violent attacks in different parts of the country, including Borno, Plateau, Benue, and Enugu States. These incidents have raised public concern about the growing insecurity and the ability of the armed forces to keep the nation safe.

During his address, Tinubu reaffirmed his full commitment to the welfare of military personnel. He noted that the government is taking steps to ensure the armed forces are well-equipped and supported.

“We are taking bold steps to equip you with advanced equipment, superior intelligence, and robust logistical support not only to defend this nation but to dominate and defeat every adversary,” he said.

Tinubu also assured the troops that their wellbeing and that of their families remain a top priority. He listed several programs being implemented to support them, including better housing, prompt payment of allowances, reliable healthcare, insurance schemes, and improved salaries.

“You have left behind your families and the comforts of civilian life to wear the uniform of honour and duty. You face danger not for wealth or recognition, but for the love of our dear country,” Tinubu noted.

He referred to the military as the “silent guardians of our democracy,” appreciating their continued courage and sacrifice. He stressed that the ongoing battle against terrorism and insecurity is not just about arms, but about commitment, unity, and the will to win.

“Let me be clear: the Federal Government stands firmly behind you,” he reiterated, promising to continue investing in resources that will make the military more effective in protecting the country.

Addressing the troops directly, Tinubu said, “Let the enemies of Nigeria know—their time is up.”

He concluded with a strong show of solidarity: “You, the Nigerian military, are the spearhead of this fight. With your valour and discipline, peace shall prevail. Stand tall. Be proud. Nigeria depends on you, and I am with you—today, tomorrow, and always.”
