Israel-Iran War: Dangote Refinery, Depot Owners Increase Fuel Price in Nigeria

As the war between Israel and Iran enters its fifth day, local fuel prices in Nigeria are starting to feel the impact. The rise in international crude oil prices has led Dangote Refinery and several petroleum product depot operators to increase their ex-depot prices of petrol.

According to current data from Petroleumprice.ng, Dangote Refinery adjusted its petrol price to ₦840 per litre, a jump from the ₦825 recorded on Monday. Other major depots have also followed suit with significant price changes.

Rainoil’s new rate stands at ₦900 per litre, up from ₦850. Meanwhile, Fynefield now sells petrol at ₦930, and Mainland depots have increased to ₦920 per litre — a rise of ₦51 and ₦63 respectively.

Prices from additional depots reflect a similar trend. Sigmund is currently selling at ₦920 per litre, Matrix in Warri at ₦910, and NIPCO’s price has moved from ₦827 last week to ₦895. Aiteo has also matched Dangote’s ₦840 per litre pricing.

These changes are happening amid a steady rise in global crude oil prices. On Tuesday, Oilprice.com listed Brent crude at $75.63 per barrel and West Texas Intermediate at $74.03 per barrel. This global situation is now having a ripple effect across local markets in Nigeria.
