JUST IN: Anglican Archbishop, Driver Released After a Month in Captivity

After spending one month in captivity, the retired Archbishop of the Niger Province, Most Rev. Prof. Godwin Okpala, and his driver have been released.

Archbishop Okpala confirmed the good news himself through a brief but powerful post on his Facebook page on Thursday morning, where he simply wrote: “Praise the Lord!”

The post immediately attracted hundreds of reactions, with many expressing gratitude to God for his safe return.

The cleric, who is also a retired Bishop of Nnewi, was reportedly abducted while traveling to Umuchu, a town in Anambra State, to attend a burial ceremony.
