JUST IN: Chelsea Finalize Joao Felix Deal As Conor Gallagher Move To Atletico Madrid

Chelsea FC has confirmed an agreement with Atletico Madrid for the permanent transfer of Portuguese forward Joao Felix. The deal comes as part of a broader shake-up at Stamford Bridge, with midfielder Conor Gallagher poised to join Atletico Madrid on a five-year contract.

Joao Felix, who previously spent half a season on loan with Chelsea during the 2022-23 campaign, has been signed back to the club. During his time at Chelsea, Felix scored four goals in 20 matches.

After his loan spell with Chelsea, he played for Barcelona last season, netting 10 goals and providing six assists in 44 appearances. The 24-year-old forward has now agreed to a six-year contract with Chelsea, with an additional year as an option, pending a successful medical examination.

Felix has been an active member of the Portugal national team, earning 41 caps and participating in two European Championship matches.

Following the completion of his medical, Felix will become Chelsea’s ninth signing of the summer transfer window, joining new recruits such as Tosin Adarabioyo, Omari Kellyman, and Pedro Neto.

In contrast, Conor Gallagher’s anticipated move to Atletico Madrid has been in the works for some time. After a period of speculation, Gallagher will finalize his transfer to Madrid, where he was recently seen in preparation for the move. This transfer follows a brief delay that saw Gallagher return to London last week.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is still exploring the acquisition of Napoli striker Victor Osimhen. Napoli is actively pursuing a loan deal for Romelu Lukaku, who remains a Chelsea player but faces uncertainty regarding his future at the club.
