JUST IN: Edo Election Tribunal Moved to Abuja

The Edo State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal has decided to move its sittings from Benin City, the state capital, to Abuja. This announcement, which has drawn significant public interest, was made through a formal notice dated January 24, 2025.

The relocation is scheduled to take effect from Monday, January 27, 2025, and the new venue for the tribunal proceedings will be the National Judicial Institute (NJI) located along Airport Road in Abuja.

The notification, signed by Mu’azu Bagudu, the Tribunal Secretary, reads in part, “I am directed to notify all parties that the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Benin City, Edo State, has been relocated to Abuja at the National Judicial Institute (NJI), Airport Road, Abuja, effective from Monday, 27th January, 2025.”
