The National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has revealed that the inflation rate for March 2025 rose to 24.23%, marking a significant increase from the previous month’s rate of 23.18%. This 4.4 percentage point rise is outlined in the Bureau’s latest Consumer Price Index (CPI) report.
The CPI, which tracks changes in the prices of goods and services over time, stood at 117.34 in March 2025. This figure reflects a 4.40-point rise from February 2025, indicating a noticeable jump in the overall cost of living during this period.
NBS statement reads: “The Consumer Price Index (CPI) rose to 117.34 in March 2025 reflecting a 4.40-point increase from the preceding month.
“In March 2025, the Headline inflation rate rose to 24.23% relative to the February 2025 headline inflation rate of 23.18%.
“Looking at the movement, the March 2025 Headline inflation rate showed an increase of 1.05% compared to the February 2025 Headline inflation rate.”
