Senator Monday Okpebholo, the incoming Governor of Edo State, is set to announce Dr. Paddy Emmanuel Iyamu as his Chief of Staff, barring any last-minute changes.
Iyamu’s appointment is expected to be confirmed today as Okpebholo is inaugurated as the 5th Governor of Edo State since 1999. The inauguration ceremony is set to take place in Benin City, the state’s capital.
A source close to the development revealed, “Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the Edo State Governor-Elect, Senator Monday Okpebholo will unveil Paddy Iyamu as his Chief of Staff.”
Dr. Iyamu is a well-respected figure with a diverse career. He is an expert in human resources management, security, and entrepreneurship, in addition to being a philanthropist.
He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Benin and a professional diploma in Safety and Security Management from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.
Iyamu also earned an honorary doctorate in Petroleum Resources from the European American University.
The inauguration ceremony, set to be held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, promises to be a grand occasion, attracting a range of dignitaries and political leaders.
Governors from the All Progressives Congress (APC) are expected to attend, alongside Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who will lead members of the Senate to support Okpebholo.
Additionally, the new deputy governor, Dennis Idahosa, along with members of the House of Representatives, led by Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, will also be present.
