JUST IN: Osimhen Leads Nigeria to 2-0 Victory Over Rwanda in World Cup Qualifier

Nigeria claimed an important 2-0 win over Rwanda in their CAF World Cup qualifying match on Friday. The Super Eagles dominated the game, with Victor Osimhen scoring twice to secure the victory.

Osimhen wasted no time in making an impact, scoring in the 11th minute after connecting with a well-placed cross from Ademola Lookman. His goal gave Nigeria an early lead, putting pressure on Rwanda to respond. However, the Rwandan team struggled to create clear chances against Nigeria’s solid defense.

As the first half was nearing its end, Osimhen struck again in stoppage time (45+3’), doubling Nigeria’s lead. His second goal further boosted the Super Eagles’ confidence and gave them control of the match before heading into the break.

The game was intense, with both teams fighting for possession. The physical nature of the match led to a few bookings. Rwanda’s D. Bizimana received a yellow card in the 46th minute, and shortly after, Nigeria’s Wilfred Ndidi was also booked in the 49th minute.

Despite Rwanda managing to hold 45% possession, they found it difficult to break through Nigeria’s defense. Their attacking efforts were limited, as they registered only two shots on target.

Nigeria’s backline remained strong throughout the game, preventing Rwanda from making any real threats. Meanwhile, Osimhen’s clinical finishing made the difference, proving once again why he is one of Africa’s top strikers.
