Oluwole Oke, a member of the House of Representatives, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), ending his long-standing affiliation with the opposition party.
Oke, who has represented the Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency of Osun State for six terms, said his decision came after thorough consultations with close political allies, supporters, and family members.
His resignation was made formal in a letter dated April 16, 2025, and addressed to the PDP Ward Chairman in Ward 7, Obokun Local Government Area.
In a brief phone call with a correspondent on Wednesday, Oke confirmed the news personally: “I have resigned from the PDP,” he said.
Although he confirmed his exit from the PDP, Oke has not yet made public any information about his future political plans.
There has been no indication of whether he intends to join another political party or run independently, but he has asked his supporters to remain calm and stay tuned.
The lawmaker, widely known in his constituency and across Osun State, used his resignation letter to reach out to his loyal followers, urging them to also part ways with the PDP.
He encouraged them to wait for further instructions from him regarding the next political direction.
