President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has left the United Kingdom for Paris, France, where he is expected to attend a significant engagement. This journey follows his two-week working vacation in the UK, which started on October 2, 2024.
The President’s vacation was announced as a time for reflection on his administration’s economic reforms. According to Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu’s Special Adviser, the two-week break was intended to serve as both a vacation and a retreat.
Onanuga explained that the President would use this period to review the progress of economic policies introduced since the start of his administration.
Ibrahim Kabir Masari, the President’s Special Assistant on Political Matters, confirmed Tinubu’s trip to Paris through his official social media handle on X (formerly Twitter).
Masari shared details of a visit he made to the President’s private residence in the UK, where they discussed important national issues before departing for France.
In his post, Masari stated, “I had the honor of visiting President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR at his private residence in the United Kingdom, where we engaged in productive discussions. We then departed for Paris, France, for another important engagement.”
The reason for the President’s trip to Paris has not been officially disclosed, but it is expected that he will meet with key international figures and engage in talks that align with Nigeria’s ongoing economic strategies.
President Tinubu’s vacation, although classified as a personal retreat, has drawn attention due to the timing, which coincides with significant economic challenges in Nigeria, including rising fuel prices and inflation.
