President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Saviour Enyiekere as the new Chairman of the National Assembly Service Commission. His appointment is for a five-year term, which can be renewed.
This was made known through a statement released on Thursday in Abuja by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Before this appointment, Enyiekere served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Senate President. He is also known for his expertise in environmental matters.
In addition to appointing a chairman, Tinubu has also approved the selection of 12 members for the commission. These members are drawn from the six geopolitical zones of Nigeria, with each zone contributing two representatives.
The statement from the presidency notes that, like the chairman, the newly appointed members will also serve a five-year term, which may be extended.
