JUST IN: President Tinubu Makes Fresh Appointments 

President Bola Tinubu has made key appointments in the education sector, naming Dr. Mohammed Aminu as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB).

Dr. Aminu, who holds a Ph.D. in Automobile Technology and a Master’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management, was previously the Director of Procurement at the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI).

With 28 years of experience in teaching, administration, research, and policy development, he is expected to bring significant expertise to his new role.

The President urged Aminu to use his experience to strengthen NABTEB’s role in assessing and certifying skilled professionals crucial for Nigeria’s industrial growth.

In addition to Aminu’s appointment, Tinubu has named Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe as the Chairman of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Board.

Olorunnimbe, known for his work in youth empowerment and education, is the Group CEO of The Temple Company, a firm he founded in 2016. His experience in education, entertainment, and sports is expected to help improve basic education in Nigeria.

Other appointments at UBEC include Mr. Rasaq Olajuwon as Deputy Executive Secretary (Technical) and Mr. Tunde Ajibulu as Deputy Executive Secretary (Services). Olajuwon was previously the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos State Infrastructure Maintenance and Regulatory Agency.

President Tinubu urged the new UBEC leadership to focus on enhancing human capital, driving educational reforms, and ensuring better access to quality basic education across the country.
