JUST IN: Tinubu Appoints Ex-APC Acting Chairman as NYSC Board Chair

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Prince Ntufam Hilliard Eta as the Chairman of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) National Governing Board.

Prince Eta, a seasoned politician with extensive experience, previously served as the acting national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the Muhammadu Buhari administration.

Additionally, he has held the position of National Vice Chairman (South-South) within the APC and served as a Director in the party’s 2023 Presidential Campaign Council. These roles underline his deep involvement in Nigeria’s political landscape and his familiarity with strategic governance.

The NYSC National Governing Board, tasked with setting the strategic direction of the scheme, is considered the highest decision-making body for the program. The board plays a crucial role in ensuring that the NYSC achieves its objectives of promoting national unity, fostering youth development, and creating avenues for young Nigerians to contribute to nation-building.

With his new role, Eta is expected to leverage his political and administrative experience to bring fresh ideas and improvements to the NYSC program. His track record as an advocate for progressive policies and grassroots mobilization has sparked optimism among stakeholders who believe he could introduce innovative reforms to benefit Nigerian youths.
