Katsina State’s Acting Governor, Faruk Lawal, announced on Monday a relaxation of the stringent 24-hour curfew previously enforced on Dutsinma Local Government Area (LGA). This change comes after a positive update on the security situation in the region.
Previously, Dutsinma, along with 33 other Local Government Areas in Katsina, was under a comprehensive curfew from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am. The adjustment now allows for some easing of restrictions in Dutsinma, reflecting an improvement in local security.
Despite this easing, Lawal has mandated that the ban on unusual gatherings and protests remains in effect across the state. He praised the security forces for their restraint in managing disruptions caused by individuals who exploited peaceful protests to engage in criminal behavior. Additionally, Lawal extended his gratitude to parents, guardians, and community leaders for their efforts in guiding young people away from such misdeeds.
