Kyle Walker’s wife, Annie Kilner, is ready to leave the past behind and embrace a new chapter in Italy following her husband’s move to AC Milan on loan from Manchester City.
Kilner’s decision comes after a turbulent period in their marriage, which was rocked by Walker’s affair with former Love Island contestant Lauryn Goodman, with whom he has two children.
The situation had caused serious strain between the couple, and reports suggest that Kilner even considered divorce at one point.
However, they reportedly made efforts to heal their relationship over the holidays, spending Christmas together, which seemed to signal a positive step forward for the pair.
Now, with Walker’s career taking a new turn in Italy, the couple is hopeful about their future.
Walker, currently in Italy, is preparing to join his new team at AC Milan, alongside fellow players Christian Pulisic and Yunus Musah, at the iconic San Siro stadium.
His family will join him soon after all the necessary arrangements, such as securing a work permit, are completed.
A source close to the family shared with the Daily Mail, “This is a good opportunity to put things behind them and make a go of it as a family unit. It will be a challenge in a new country, but they are willing to give it a go.”
The move to Milan represents a fresh start for Walker, both personally and professionally. The England international, known for his defensive skills, is excited about his role with AC Milan, although he will miss the Champions League group stage this season.
Walker is reportedly eager to wear the No.32 jersey, a number famously worn by English football legend David Beckham during his loan spell with the club in 2009.
Walker’s potential debut for AC Milan is expected to come soon, with his first appearance likely coinciding with a high-stakes Milan derby against Inter Milan on February 2.
