La Liga: Barcelona Four Points Clear of Real Madrid After Draw Against Betis

Barcelona remained four points ahead of Real Madrid in the La Liga title race despite being held to a 1-1 draw by Real Betis on April 5, 2025.

Barcelona took an early lead in the seventh minute when Gavi slid the ball past Betis goalkeeper Adrian. However, the visitors responded quickly, with Natan Souza scoring a header from a Giovani Lo Celso corner in the 16th minute.

Barcelona dominated possession and created several chances in the second half but were unable to break through a resilient Betis defense. Goalkeeper Adrian played a crucial role in keeping Betis in the game, while Barcelona’s Wojciech Szczesny had little to do until late in the match.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid suffered a dramatic 2-1 loss to Valencia, who scored deep into injury time, leaving Barcelona with a four-point cushion atop the standings. Both teams now shift their focus to upcoming Champions League ties.
