Labour Party Publicity Secretary in Enugu State, Mr. Titus Odo, has officially rejoined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), along with former Commissioner for Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Emeka Mamah.
Odo, who also served as the spokesperson for the Labour Party in Enugu, joined the PDP at its state secretariat alongside Mamah, who was the coordinator of the Peter Obi Presidential Campaign in Enugu during the 2023 general elections. The two had initially dumped the PDP in the lead-up to the last polls but have now decided to return.
The PDP state chairman, Dr. Martin Chukwunwike, received the duo and welcomed them back into the party. He noted that their return was part of a broader reconciliation effort led by Governor Peter Mbah to bring back old members who left the party due to internal disagreements or dissatisfaction.
“We are happy to have them in our midst and God has set this party on a good foot as 2027 is already assured,” Dr. Chukwunwike said, expressing optimism about the party’s chances in the next general elections. He also called for unity among party members, urging them to work together as the PDP prepares for future political contests.
While addressing members of the party, Mr. Odo said he was excited to return to his political base. He cited the visible progress being made under Governor Mbah’s administration as one of the major reasons for his return.
“I am happy to tell you that I am back to my home. I came back because of the giant developmental strides of Gov Mbah and I say kudos to him,” he said.
Odo also pointed to the defection of his former boss, Dr. Chijioke Edeoga, the Labour Party’s 2023 governorship candidate, as another factor in his decision. He added that developments in Igboeze North under Council Chairman Uchenna Ogara also influenced his return.
On his part, Prince Mamah thanked leaders of the PDP at the local and state levels for accepting him back. He noted that the governor’s willingness to reconcile with former members had helped create a sense of belonging.
“Personally, I am pleased with the performances of our governor,” Mamah stated.
